English Civil War Dismounted Ironsides

Been putting together some dismounted Parliamntarian cavalry the past week or so for my long planned and never realised English Civil War in the style of the Three Musketeers or the Flashing Blade skirmish game.
Parts are mostly Replicants with a bit of Airfix/Cherilea and A Call To Arms thrown in to the pot.
These are only roughs to work out parts and poses and still need a lot of cleaning up and filling and parts adding etc.
Will post more pics of these as work progresses.
Got several character figures in mind including Royalist heroes and civilians and camp figures.
Three are straight from the box and rest are converted to one degree or another.
Please excuse photo quality I will try to improve picture quality in the future, had to use macro setting in the light I had to get a result and I am staggered at the amount of mould lines etc that appear !!

Welcome to Robs Toy Soldier Conversions

Hello to all,and welcome to my first ever blog,as such please excuse any idiosyncracies while I get to grips with it all.
Pictured here are a number of my current conversions ranging from the mundane to the bizarre.
I very much enjoy the process of selecting parts and building rough figures stuck together with blu tack but after that my interest tends to tail off, pinning, gluing and painting I find a real chore so few of my conversions seem to progress beyond the work in progress stage.
I am hoping this blog will encourage me to start finishing some off !!
Perhaps it may prove of interest anyway as there are precious few sites on the web for this sort of thing.
I am a lapsed wargamer and in theory these are all destined to be gaming pieces, current projects include a Gorilla soldier from Planet of the Apes, zombies,Jason and the Argonauts,WW1,WW2,Old West,Maximillian Adventure and English Civil War....oh and did I mention Pirates,Pulp and The Land That Time Forgot !!!
is it any wonder I never finish anything.
Many of the above are easily available in smaller scales but not in 54mm which i favour as I collect toy soldiers.
